Security at Private Schools – Are cameras enough?

Are you a private school administrator in Miami Dade County, Broward County, or Palm Beach County and are relying on cameras alone to secure students, staff, and property?  Unmanned gate systems and digital video recording are only a reactive form of security.  The presence of a security guard is a proactive way to avoid incidents before they happen.  A recording of an event is a good way of finding out what has happened and who probably did it, but the event should not have taken place at all.  Also, that DVR recording of the event  may serve as a tool against the facility if a civil lawsuit arises because of improper premises liability issues.
